It was good news for Birmingham Airport this July as it saw another month of rising traffic. Over 1.1 million people went through the air hub in June alone making it the 16th months in a row of rising passenger numbers.
Such increases in numbers will result in less Birmingham Airport parking promo codes for the frugal travellers. The problem is not the increasing passengers but the failure of most airports to create more parking spaces. This does not just end with people having to pay high rates just to leave their car at the air hub. It also encourages shoddy parking service providers. This has been a problem and a good number of travellers have had their vehicles vandalised.
There were exactly 1,118,452 people that went through the air hub in June, marking an increase of more than 13 percent as compared to the number from the same period last year.
According to a report, there were 129,000 more travellers going through the airport compared to the previous month, which raised the total number of passengers this year to 5.2 million so far.
The CEO of Birmingham of Airport, Mr Paul Kehoe stated: “June marks the beginning of the high-traffic summer months. It is wonderful that this summer has begun with the 16th month of tremendous growth. We have seen over 1 million people go through our airport which is a great thing for our economy. Furthermore, there was considerable yearly growth for both long and short haul flights. Long haul flights saw about 10.6 percent growths while short one went up by 13.2 percent. We have a growing list of air hubs and destinations and this means people are opting to travel from the West Midlands because of the wide range of choice we are offering. There is simply more accessibility, flexibility, and value.”
Paul went on to add: “Long-haul routes have kept up their good performance in addition to our short haul flights seeing a much sharper growth as compared to last year. All this goes to show that there is soaring demand to use Birmingham Airport.
The traffic for last month was divided between 86% for normal flights and 14 percent for chartered ones. The most passengers came from the Caribbean and Middle Eastern routes of the airport. This was the direct result of new services like Punta Cana being introduced.
The best thing to do if you would like to get cheap Birmingham Airport parking in the face of these soaring numbers of passengers is to book early. Try to have your slot secured at least a week before the flight day, but if that’s impossible, even just 48 or 24 hours in advance will be enough.
If the official parking seems too expensive, you could always try some well-known hacks including booking your hotel room and parking at once, or even going for private parking. You should, however, make sure you check out enough reviews before signing up for anything. The security of your car should be the most important thing and shouldn’t be sacrificed for the hopes of saving 50 or so Pounds.
